I found a new pregnancy favorite: maxi dresses!

Can I tell you a secret?

A part of me can't wait for this pregnancy to be over.  I'm grateful that no one ever said I need to have X number of children because frankly, I don't think I could handle ballooning up every other year for the next ten years.  I'm just not myself when I'm pregnant.  I miss me.  Bron misses me.

Want to know the second piece of my secret?

The other part of me secretly loves being pregnant!  It's all about that round belly!  I love feeling our little miracle bumping around in my stomach.  I love the anticipation of bringing a new life into our family!  It's exciting and special and sometimes even spiritual.

As my family grows, I reflect more and more on the purpose of family. This quote by Bernadine Healy often comes to mind:

"As a physician, who has been deeply privileged to share the most profound moments of people’s lives including their final moments, let me tell you a secret. People facing death don’t think about what degrees they have earned, what positions they have held, or how much wealth they have accumulated. At the end, what really matters is who you loved and who loved you. That circle of love is everything, and is a great measure of a past life. It is the gift of greatest worth."

More than anything, I want to be the best wife and mother I can possibly be because in the big scheme of things, family is all that really matters.  My boys mean the world to me.  I cherish every smile, every laugh, every hug, every kiss, and every wonderful-awful thing in between.

So baby boy, yes, you are worth every single day of uncomfortable pregnancy!

Is it just me, or is this pregnancy making me sentimental and weepy?

  1. Where do you find your maternity clothes? You always look so cute in these pregnancy pictures! And, I always felt the same way about pregnancy. I loved parts of it but wanted it to be over at the same time.

  5. I'm glad these are in style right now.. I might just stock up on some for the next time we go to have a kid! I love the color of your dress.. such a happy color!
I think every woman has a love/hate relationship with pregnancy (and to those weird ladies who say they love every moment of it.. they're lying!).
Have you been able to get an idea of his personality yet? With both of my boys (I know this might sound silly) but they are very similar to how they acted when I was pregnant with them. Travis was always moving, always kicking, never stopped moving, and never liked anything touching him. When I would lay on my side he would push away from the bed. Now at 3 he is still the same.. especially hates to cuddle. Tyler was more reserved and calm and is that way too.
Its interesting.. this whole concept of growing little human beings inside of us! Can't wait to see what your new little guy is going to be like!

  6. I LOVED my maxi dress when I was pregnant last Summer! I know what you mean too. I am always really depressed when I am pregnant and really tired too. I will tellyou though that after Grady was born, I was on the best high of my life for a few months. It was awesome.
