Easter Eggin' 2015
We celebrated a wonderful low-key Easter weekend with candy, good food, spiritual upliftment, and friends; all the things a good holiday is made of. We kicked off the weekend Friday afternoon with a slug of neighbor families for an Easter egg hunt. Despite what it might look like, the egg hunt actually wasn't madness. There were plenty of eggs and candy for all! The egg hunt was followed by a BBQ that lasted well after the kids' bedtime. Delicious food and conversation? I'm game! I think the kids were running on repetitive sugar highs.
^^Excited and ready for the big Egg Hunt! This wasn't even all of the kids. Lol.^^
^^Levi: "I got allll the candy!" Indeed, he ate it completely gone by the next morning.^^
^^Jed super excited over his "special prize!"^^
I love Easter. I love teaching my children about Jesus Christ and the miracle of His resurrection; the miracle of love and mercy and hope. I know I don't fully comprehend the Atonement or how to fully apply it to myself (that's what I'm on this life-long journey for, right?), but I am grateful for the testimony that I have that my elder brother Jesus Christ lived and died so that I might have the opportunity to live with my Heavenly Father again. I am grateful for the love I feel everyday and that this sweet family of mine can be together forever. Life is good and I owe it all to God.
That looks like one awesome neighborhood Easter Egg hunt!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh so sweet. I love this time of year too, and I love being a part of the gospel. It brings so much joy and fulfillment to life! Thanks for sharing your testimony.

ReplyDeleteYou seem to live in a great neighborhood with fun friends! That is a lot of kids. What a blast though. I hear you on General Conference. I may not have slept, but I don't know that I heard any more of it than if I had been asleep. At least we turned it on, right?
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Easter my sweet friend. It sounds like you had the pefect holiday all around :)
