Sprinkler Love
Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.

Motherhood can be the hardest job on the planet. It can be frustrating and exhausting. Sometimes I find myself counting down the hours till bedtime, or even nap time! Jed has been pushing my buttons and I feel so sleep deprived right now. But that's exactly why these pictures mean so much to me. I'm glad Bron snapped a few photos of my little boys and me running through the sprinklers together one hot evening. We played, we laughed, we screamed with delight!
Happy moments like these outweigh those hard moments a hundred thousand times. It's the little everyday blessings that make life so rich and rewarding. And I love my two little boys more than anything, just the way they are right now.
that looks like fun! you guys are lucky to have so much space to run and play. we have just the tiniest little patch of grass in the front. i'm jealous! :)
